Red Sky, Southwest Harbor, ME

Last week Key West, this week, Maine. What an amazing time. But what goes around comes around, so it was no surprise to walk into Red Sky in Southwest Harbor, Maine and find a bartender who had just moved into town from Key West. It was kismet, and I was feeling that laid back, on-the-water way that either place can give you, although the towns are totally different from each other.

My pal and I only popped in for drinks and a snack. I have to tell you, Miss Keys behind the bar did not let us down. She's creative with the liquor, and her drinks show creativity and fun. I had the Red Sky, made with cava, raspberry sorbet and blood orange juice, while Jeffrey had the Jeffrey had Cedrico's Minted Mount Gay Sidecar with rum, triple sec, lemon and lime juice.

We also ordered the paté (can you see a theme here). I had told her about Blackfin Bistro's in Key West and the review I wrote (see it here). Red Sky delivers the goods... classic, but not Blackfin. Still yum though.

I didn't have dinner at Red Sky, but did peruse the menu. I have to say, if you are over lobster, which we weren't, go here. There were several good looking duck dishes and other meaty alternatives available. I can't vouch for the food, but can guarantee the drinks will put a smile on your face.
